A new aircraft for Air Burkina by September 2024

Ouagadougou, August 8, 2024 (AIB)-Minister Roland Somda announced on Thursday the acquisition of a new aircraft for the national airline Air Burkina by September 2024.

He added that this aircraft will belong to the Air Burkina company, specifying that, contrary to previous practice, this is not a lease.
According to Mr. Somda, leasing in the aviation sector is not a sustainable solution.
Minister Roland Somda spoke on Thursday in Ouagadougou during the evaluation session of the performance contracts assigned to the various ministers during the first half of 2024.

He also said that a team went to China to verify the aircraft that the country wishes to acquire.
Tests have been carried out, and all that remains is to finalize the acquisition procedure in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, said Mr. Somda.
With the cabinet reshuffle of August 1, 2024, Roland Somda left Transport for Sports and Youth.
